The Story
She cannot fish to save her life.
Finley Frankfurter is fifteen years old, born into a family of fisherfolk, and hopeless with a net. When her father falls ill with something no doctor can name, she does the only thing left to do: she takes a boat she can barely sail out onto a sea that has never once been kind to her, chasing a cure that everybody agrees is only a story.
What she finds out there is stranger than the story. Sea-witches who bargain badly. A crew of creatures who have their own reasons for helping. And a truth about her father, her family, and herself that she has to travel a very long way to be ready to hear.
Told with a live original score, puppetry, and a great deal of salt water, Spells of the Sea is a musical for anybody who has ever been told they are not built for the thing they most want to do.
Believe in the story, and the story starts believing in you.
